A community of support, resources and action for Ohio Deputy Registrars
Empowering Ohio Deputy Registrars
In Ohio, Deputy Registrar offices are essential service providers contracted by the state to operate Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) locations. These offices handle key vehicle and driver services, including vehicle registrations, driver’s licenses, ID issuance, and title processing.
While Deputy Registrar offices operate under state supervision, they are privately managed by local individuals, county clerks of court, county auditors, or non-profit associations. This unique structure ensures a community-focused approach, bringing essential BMV services closer to residents while maintaining state oversight for quality and compliance.
ODRA’s legislative committee collaborates closely with our lobbyist to review, influence, and develop legislation and policies that impact the Deputy Registrar community. Our advocacy efforts aim to safeguard and strengthen the Deputy Registrar system, ensuring our voices are represented in Ohio’s legislative processes.
ODRA fosters meaningful connections among Deputy Registrars by hosting in-person and virtual meetings and workshops throughout the year. These gatherings provide opportunities to address shared challenges, exchange insights, and enhance our community’s effectiveness. ODRA also partners with BMV administration to address key issues and support a cohesive, well-functioning Deputy Registrar network.
ODRA provides exclusive access to timely information and support via social media and email distribution to its members. With year-round updates, resources, and community support, ODRA members stay informed and connected within a supportive professional network.
ODRA curates and develops valuable resources for Deputy Registrars, including access to preferred vendors for DR merchandise and name tags, affordable BMV-branded apparel, and state-compliant signage for holiday closures. Additionally, ODRA provides legislative insights, talking points for advocacy efforts, and required labor law displays.
